Have you been having problems voting online?
Here's a quick guide to solving the most common problems.
When I register, it reads: “You entered the wrong security code. Please try again.”
The security code is the series of characters displayed in the large white box towards the bottom of the page. Enter these characters in the textbox in the correct order with NO spaces between them. If you continue to see this error, try refreshing the page by pressing your ctrl and F5 button together (apple and R button if using a MAC).
When I register, it reads: Sorry, UK users only. Only people within the United Kingdom can cast votes in the People’s £50 Million Lottery Giveaway.”
Unfortunately we can only allow users to register who are based in the UK, using a UK IP address. If you are using a computer in the UK and receive this error, it may be because your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) server is located outside the UK. To register use a computer that uses a UK IP address.
If you do not have access to another computer then you can vote via telephone. Telephone voting lines will open at 9am on Friday the 7th of December.
I try to login it but it displays the error message: “You do not have permission to sign into the site.”
After completing the registration form you will receive an activation email with the subject “People’s 50 Million Email Validation”. To complete your registration open this email and click the link provided. You should then receive a confirmation on screen that “Your application for membership has been accepted”. You will now be able to login to the website.
If you cannot find this email please check your email junk and spam folders in case this email has been filtered out of your inbox.
How do I cast my vote?
Before you can vote on The People’s 50 Million website you MUST be logged in. To login click the “Log In” button in the grey login box located in the WebPages header. Then enter your username and password into the textboxes provided before pressing the “Proceed” button.
Navigate to the “Vote” page
Select the project you want to vote for by clicking in the little circle to the left of the project name. The project will then become highlighted in yellow. Press the “Vote Now” button. You will then be directed to a confirmation page.
To confirm your vote check that the correct project name is displayed.
Then type in the two words displayed into the text box WITHOUT any spaces.
Confirm you have read our terms and conditions by ticking the little box on the left.
How do I check that I have cast my vote successfully?
To check that you have cast your vote first login to the website.
Once you are logged in, check the grey login box located in the WebPages header. If you have successfully voted the text will read, “Supporting [project’s name]”. If your vote has not been cast it will read “Cast your vote”.
How do I change my vote once it has been cast? Once your vote has been cast you have the option to change it up to 12 noon on 10 December. No matter how many times you change your vote, it will only be counted once when the voting closes and this will be the project you last chose prior to the deadline.
To change your vote first login to the website. Click the link “Change your vote” located in the grey login box located in the webpage header.
This will navigate you to the Vote page where you can then follow the instructions Question 4, ”How do I cast my vote?”
The website is not working in my web browser If you are having troubles viewing the site in your web browser please ensure you are using the latest version.
